Advice for when the Coroner has denied an inquest
After getting a letter in the post, Sue and Bob inform Annie that the Coroner has made a decision not to hold an inquest into Jane’s death.
They feel angry and let down, as they know Jane should not have died when she did. They believe that others like Jane could be at risk if the events leading up to her death are not inspected, and feel that an inquest would help them receive the answers and closure they need.
What next?
Sue and Bob have a conversation and a couple of days later inform Annie that they would like to have the decision not to hold an inquest into Jane’s death reviewed.
Annie says that she will need to talk to a Barrister to get some input. She tells Sue and Bob that there may be some application costs which come with this decision, but it will be done as cheaply as possible as she knows they don’t have a lot of money to spend.
