Our Partnership with Mencap
Mencap is a UK charity for people with a learning disability supporting individuals, their families, and their carers. Working to address a wide range of key issues which affect people with a learning disability, Mencap’s vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to, and included.
A key issue for people with a learning disability is healthcare inequality, and Rachel’s Voice is complimentary to Mencap’s past and existing campaigns, including Treat Me Well.
This campaign works to make positive changes to better accommodate the needs of people with a learning disability through promoting the healthcare rights of people with a learning disability and changing practices to ensure people with a learning disability have equal access to healthcare treatment.
Mencap have, alongside Fieldfisher, provided generous funding to start this project. Mencap also support Rachel’s Voice by taking our referrals through the Mencap Helpline and providing the infrastructure needed to manage cases.
